other transfersIn some low profile transfer news, Peter Crouch is on the brink of signing a contract with Fulham or Sunderland. The lanky striker left Anfield last season to get more first team play and joined Portsmouth. But he dint seem very contend with the club and has decided to leave it barely a year after signing for it. His performance was not upto the mark last season even though he did score a few goals. Tottenham Hotspurs on the other hand wants to get rid of its strikers, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Darren Bent and Jermain Defoe. There have not been any offical bids for the players but Harry Redknapp, the manager claims they are for sale. Another player for from the club is David Bentley who had a low profile season except for one fabulous goal against Arsenal. Bentley may leave for the Eastlands if he is not assured first team football. Tottenham are trying hard to sign Partrick Viera from Inter Milan and are ready to offer Jermaine Jenas as a part of the deal but results are yet to be been. Ruud Van Nesterlrooy is still on the Blackburn list but nothing can be confirmed yet regarding the future of the Dutchman. The English clubs seem to be happy with their respective squads so there is very little excitement in the transfer market from their side.
