championsleague-review-300x225Am sure most of you know that Barcelona won the Champions League last season. But the road to Roma for Barcelona was somewhat controversial and not as clean as Manchester United. First let’s stick to the final match. Manchester United’s squad selection was pathetic. Making Anderson and Park Ji Sung play in such a crucial match was a mistake. Young players do get tensed in important matches especially when a bad result can knock the team out of a major tournament. Take the instance of Gibbs of Arsenal who didn’t play well after slipping on the field and letting Park Ji Sung of Manchester United score in the early minutes. The pressure really got onto him after that. He was substituted at half time for the same reason. Sir Alex Ferguson should have played Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs for their experience could have made the difference.
Any way’s many people said that UEFA wanted Barcelona to come to final to attract more fans and generate some income. We have already discussed the semi final 2nd leg between Chelsea and Barcelona in another post as it required some real focus and highlight. But after defeating Manchester United without their main defenders Barcelona did prove a point. They dint have Dany Alves and Marquez. I guess the controversy died out as Barcelona won the champions league.
